Over the years Castlegore Amateur Flute Band has been sucessful in competitions. Some of these placings can be seen in the following certificates. Click on image to enlarge.
For a number of years Castlegore didn't compete but now under the leadership and dedication of our conductor, Miss Carol Waugh, we have entered the contest field once more.
February 2009 saw us taking 2nd place in Grade 3 with the pieces King Stephen and Aria Cantabile.
Some members of the band participated in the solos and ensembles competition in April 2009, in which the octet were placed 1st.
The accumulation of points from contests has given Castlegore 3rd place in the Band of the Year Championship 2009.
The contest in Armagh on 23rd October 2010 saw the band being placed 1st in Grade 3. We also achieved the percussion and conductor's prizes.
The own choice contest on 26th Februrary 2011 saw another win for the band as well as picking up the percussion and conductors prizes.
